Frequently Asked Questions

What is growth optimization?

At some point, most growing companies hit a wall — spend goes up, results don't follow. Usually it's not the campaigns that are broken, it's the system running them: misaligned agencies, unclear ownership or processes that made sense at half the size.

Growth optimization means finding exactly what's stalled and fixing it so your marketing budget actually moves the needle again.

How is this different than hiring a marketing agency?

Agencies run campaigns. I look at the whole system — your team structure, your agency relationships, your workflows, your measurement — and figure out why performance is lagging. Often the problem isn't that you need better campaigns. It's that the infrastructure supporting them is broken.

Do you replace my team or agencies?

No. I work alongside them. If a change needs to happen, e.g., a new agency, a restructured team I'll guide that process. But the goal is always to make your existing setup perform better, not to swap people out.

What types of companies do you work with?

Typically mid-sized companies with $1M+ marketing budgets that have hit a growth plateau — whether that's stalled acquisition, declining ROI, or a sense that the marketing investment just isn't pulling its weight.

I've worked across financial services, technology, consumer, higher ed, agriculture and B2B — the industries might be different but the solutions can frequently be adapted.

What will I get at the end of an engagement?

Depends on the service. The Diagnostic delivers a 90-day operating plan with clear priorities within five business days. The Implementation Sprint delivers a restructured marketing operation — redesigned workflows, clarified roles, reset agency relationships, and a performance cadence that holds.

Either way, you leave with something actionable, not just a deck.

How fast will I see results?

Some things move quickly — agency accountability, workflow clarity, measurement gaps.

Structural changes take longer, typically 2–4 months. I'm not going to promise a timeline I can't stand behind, but most clients see meaningful movement within the first few weeks.
